IsoCool plays supporting role for Logoplaste and GSK

Logoplaste and GSK

Leading international manufacturer of rigid plastic containers, Logoplaste, has chosen IsoCool to install a major cooling system at its new UK facility located in Gloucestershire. The factory is an annex to GlaxoSmithKline’s largest soft drinks plant, providing bottles through a ‘hole in the wall’ operation for the Lucozade and Ribena brands.

IsoCool has designed a bespoke turnkey solution for Logoplaste’s facility providing chilled and cooling water systems to a series of injection and blow moulding machines. The installation includes prefabricated variable speed pump skids, circulation pumps, process pumps and plate heat exchangers, and will support a chilled water system that is being supplied by GlaxoSmithKline’s absorption chillers.

The scale and complexity of the installation meant Logoplaste were highly selective when looking for a supplier. Company Secretary at Logoplaste, Angus Frazer, explains why they chose IsoCool:

“We had previously used a competitor of IsoCool but became progressively disillusioned with the service. IsoCool recently completed a demanding installation at our Essex site and did an excellent job, so we decided to use them again”.

Usually known for their energy and cost saving process cooling solutions, IsoCool is utilising one of their less publicised areas of expertise for this project – prefabrication. Unlike most cooling companies, IsoCool doesn’t contract this type of work out to other companies, but rather manufactures and constructs ancillary equipment at their purpose built factory in Braintree, Essex.

Ian McCormick, Operations Director of IsoCool explains why it is a good idea to work with a cooling specialist that has this capability:

“the substructure required to support an industrial cooling system is just as important as the system itself. We have the expertise and resources to manage every aspect of a project, from the manufacture of the pump skids to the supply and maintenance of the chillers. This means we can guarantee the quality and performance of the entire cooling process, or can be brought in to handle specific elements of a project where specialist expertise is required, as we are doing at Logoplaste.”
