IsoCool receives Energy Management finalist award

When you consider that a ten-year-old medium-sized chiller will cost a manufacturer about £75,000 a year to run, it’s no surprise to hear that cooling is one of the most expensive processes. That is, unless IsoCool designs it.

In just a few years, the process cooling specialist has achieved truly exceptional results in the field of energy reduction, saving its clients thousands of pounds in operating costs. As a result, the company has gained an enviable reputation in the industry, and now counts many world-leading manufacturers, such as GSK, Logoplaste and E2V, as loyal customers.

IsoCool attributes this success to having an eco-, rather than a product-led approach to system design and installation. For example, instead of ripping out old equipment, IsoCool will seek every opportunity to refurbish, recycle and upgrade an existing system first. As well as achieving energy savings up of up to 80%, this innovative approach usually requires a far smaller investment compared to the cost of a new system, therefore providing a much faster ROI.

It is this savvy approach which caught the eye of Food Processing magazine editor, David Strydom. IsoCool often contributes expert editorial comment on energy related issues to the title, as well as case studies which illustrate best practice in innovative design and installation. One such case study - which saw IsoCool reduce energy costs for Closures by £52,000 every year - impressed David so much, that he personally nominated IsoCool for the ‘ Energy Management of the Year Award’ at this year’s Food Processing Award.

After months of independent voting, the company beat off many worthy opponents to be shortlisted for the award, and the Isocool team were invited to attend the prestigious awards ceremony in Leicester. Joining the cream of the industry’s crop, including global corporations, quirky creatives and emerging leaders, IsoCool celebrated a fantastic evening, and were delighted to receive the energy management finalist award, as Nigel Hallett explains:

“It’s great to be recognised for our work in energy saving as it’s something we’re incredibly proud of. We’d like to thank everyone who took the time to vote for us, and to David who put us up for the award!”
